Interviewing may be even more telling than an audition. But, if you focus on hypothetical questions versus real life scenarios, you may not get the information you need to make a smart choice! When preparing your questions, remember hypothetical questions typically lead to hypothetical answers. Instead, focus on asking about past performance as it typically predicts future behavior. Think about what you find most valuable and develop questions to see how an instructor has handled him or herself in the past. For example, if customer service is important, you might ask, “Tell me about a time when you had a difficult class participant?” instead of, “If you had a difficult class participant, what would you do?”
